Drummer, Drum Teacher and Production

Geoff Cooper has enjoyed a long professional career spanning over four decades and still going strong. The son of drummer Dick Cooper, he began his love-affair with drums at the age of 3 and started playing live gigs at 14, turning full professional at 21. From there a hard-working career burgeoned that encompassed such diverse aspects of professional drumming as: Touring with Rock and Blues bands; Theatre Shows; Radio, TV, and countless Recording sessions; Funk bands; Cruise Liners, and 60's revival acts - He's done them all!

Currently can be seen playing with "Tampa Road", or "Rockface",or "The 4 Pillars of Wisdom" or .....

Geoff has always enjoyed playing drums in varied musical environments and built a reputation as a solid and reliable “dep”. Some of the bands that have called upon his services are:

Cuckoos Nest - Sadly no longer performing together but featured the legendary Eddie Phillips on guitar, ex-Kink Nobby Dalton (bass), and Mike Richardson(drums).
Robin Bibi Band - Robin on guitar, Hans "flying dutchman" Ferrao (drums) and Tony "Bad Boy" Martin (bass).
Tampa Road - One of many incarnations through the years of the wonderful Ian Ellis (ex Clouds, Savoy Brown, Steve Hackett and Frankie Miller) on bass, and Gary Sandford(ex Joe Jackson, Aztec Camera, Kirsty Macoll) on guitar.
Whang and the Cheviots - Sir Tim Rice(vocals), Chris Staines(bass), David Ballantyne(guitar).
The 4 Pillars of Wisdom - Guitarist Gary Reece has a pool of thirty of Londons finest session players - The line-ups are always interesting!
Uncle Funk - Outrageous big-wigged funksters.
The 60's All Stars
The Rollin Stoned- Michels venture since quitting The Counterfeit Stones - very authentic Hyde Park era Stones show.

As well as the live performances and studio sessions, Geoff has taught many students and is proud of the success that his protogés have gone on to achieve.
